JOB TITLE:  CHORAL ACCOMPANIST 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. High School diploma or GED Certificate, Bachelor of Music Degree preferred
2. Experience as Choral Accompanist (piano)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work collaboratively with certified choral teachers in classrooms grades 5-12
2. Prepare accompaniment parts separately in advance of rehearsals
3. Accompany students in recital and audition materials
4. Communicate needs for repair and maintenance of pianos on OMS and OHS campuses
5. Assist with maintenance of music library (choral only)
6. Accompany OMS and OHS choirs in performances on campus and in our region
7. The position requires movement between OMS-North and OHS campuses
8. Other duties as assigned

ABILITY TO:

1. Work within a quickly changing environment on multiple campuses and with multiple teachers
2. Prepare accompaniment parts independently
3. Play four part harmony from piano score
4. Perform challenging piano literature (i.e. Vivaldi Gloria, Handel Messiah, and other choral masterworks)

6. The interview process will include an audition on piano performance.
